GERD—Esophageal Disorders

Esophageal disorders usually present with persistent indigestion or dysphagia (difficulty swallowing).

Esophagitis is inflammation of the esophagus, usually caused by gastro reflux. This is referred to as GERD, (gastric esophageal reflux disease).

Chronic, untreated esophagitis can lead to ulcer formation, bleeding, and stricture.
